You can find a PDF with the evaluation guidelines for the final project assignment here.
The aim of the group session is to provide last minute help for your analysis and for the preparation of your result section (mandatory assignment #4). Otherwise, please use the session to discuss what you have done so far and exchange tips & tricks on how to improve (and possibly expand) those for the final assignment.
Due to the clash with other lectures during week 12 for some of you, there will be no lectures and no group class in that week (21.3. - 25.3.). That way you get extra time for assignment #3, too.
Assignment #2 (submission deadline tomorrow!)
- New minimum word count = 1500
- Remember: You are not supposed to write an introduction like it is part of a real scientific article but you are encouraged to start at a somewhat lower level and can refer to “textbook level” content.
Assignment #4: New deadline set to April 20 (previously April 18)
The submission deadline for the mandatory assignment #2 (introduction and background) is postponed by one week to Friday, March 11.
The lecture on Monday, February 28, is unfortunately cancelled due to illness.
Digital teaching on Thursday Februray 24. See the schedule or e-mail for the zoom link.
- The slides and a video recording of today's lecture can be downloaded from the schedule page.
- Please remember to submit the first assignment on Friday, February 18, via devilry! (Please contact me if you encounter problems.) The requested science question is tentative (!) and you are not supposed to produce new scientific results. Following existing articles (and reproducing the results with the data at hand as far as possible) is absolutely fine (but please clearly cite those articles.)
- The template for the second assignment is available on disk.
- On Monday, February 21, we can have an informal discussion about science questions and your experience so far.
I am sorry but also the lecture on Monday, February 7, has to be cancelled. No worries, we have plenty of time throughout the semester to catch up. We meet again on Thursday, February 10th, in person (peisestua). The group session on Wednesday, February 9th, will take place as planned.
The lecture on Monday Jan 31 is cancelled due to illness.
The lecture on Thursday, January 27, at 10:00 (sharp) will be online only. We will use the usual zoom link. Sorry for any inconvenience due to the short notice.
Please note that from now on all lectures and group session will take place in room 304 (peisestua)!
