The deadline of project 2 is now set to the 10th May at 23:59

Here is the suggested solutions for project 1, and the evaluation guide we will use for grading.

No rest for the cosmologists! Project 2 is here, and is again due at the end of the month, April 30th 23:59.

Feel free to use this skeleton code (this link downloads a .zip) as a starting point for you code, or as inspiration for your own code structure.

Please be prepared to hand in:

• A pdf-file with the answers to the problems
• A file with the code(s) you have developed

By now you should all have access to Devilry, and can start handing in project 1 when you are ready. You can hand in several times, only the last version will be considered. As mentioned before, these are the required deliverables:

1. One PDF-file with your answers to the problems
2. One file (or .zip) of the codes you have developed so that it can be easily run (please include the datafile of the supernova data)

If you still don't have access to Devilry, or have some other issue after you log in, please contact Ida (study administration, i.e.moe@astro.uio.no) as soon as possible.

After kind feedback from you guys I have now created a discussion room (Discourse room) for this semester. You can use this forum to ask questions and discuss the course, the problem sets, and the projects. I will do my best to follow along and answer questions, but please feel free to join any discussions/threads if you are having similar questions or think you might have constructive input. Remember, if you have a question, the chance is high someone else is also wondering the same thing.

You should be able to access the discussion room by the hyperlink or using the URL below. The first time you access Discourse through the link, you will be asked to log in with FEIDE. This is done with your regular UiO user. After you have completed this, you will be notified that your Discourse user has been created and that you have received an email to verify your user.
