This year, we are testing out a new textbook format, an e-book with lecture notes and resources that will be developed throughout the course. This resource will support the flipped-classroom approach in the course and (hopefully) support active learning.

This is the second time this course will run. We had great fun last year, and I am sure it will be even better this time. This course is all about combining theories, methods, and perspectives from two different branches of musicology (psychology and technology). The focus will be on giving you a broad understanding of these two fields, preparing you for moving on with either (or both).

The general format is that we will have some introductions at the beginning of each class, followed by various hands-on activities. This includes soundwalks on campus and learning the basics of various types of software and hardware tools.

Since this is an introductory course, we will focus on giving you a broad coverage, but there will be several doctoral and postdoctoral fellows from RITMO involved in teaching, so you will have access to very deep, expert knowledge, if you want!

Welcome!
