Course content

This course will continue as MCT4015 at NTNU from the fall semester 2019.

The aim of the course is to develop theoretical and practical knowledge of the foundations of entrepreneurship and how they can be applied in practice. Through a combination of readings, exercises, and practical, action-based learning, students will practice identifying problems, developing solutions, and learning how to bring their ideas (both business and non-business) into reality.

Learning outcome

  • An overview of the theoretical foundations of entrepreneurship and how to apply them in practice
  • Improve the capacity to challenge assumptions, identify problems, ask questions, understand users, run tests, and iterate solutions
  • Improve the ability to effectively communicate ideas and gain stakeholder buy-in
  • Demonstrate knowledge about different strategies to realise opportunities (from effectuation to Design Thinking)
  • Move from a passive mindset of asking “what do I do?” towards an active mindset of “I know what to try."
