Important information on exam submission at IMK
? The candidate / student number is published on student web approx. 2 weeks ahead of exam. If you experience problems with your candidate number, please contact the IMK reception.
? The exam will be handed out the given exam date from 10.00 a.m. The exam text will also be published on the course's semester web pages.
? The deadline for submitting your exam will be the given date from 12.00 to 14.00. Exams submitted later than 14.00 will not be accepted. It is not possible to turn in corrected or missing material after the deadline.
? Please submit your exam in 2 copies. Every page in a copy has to be stapled or otherwise arranged in the correct order. Please number all pages. Also include candidate number, course name and code, and date.
? Remember to bring valid students ID when you submit your exam.

Please send questions for the Schibsted excursion 7 Nov to Marius at <marius@bungalab.com> (with "Schibsted" in the subject field) before noon on Friday 3 Nov. This is expected by Schibsted. Marius will forward your questions. Details on the excursion: See below.
EXCURSION TO DAGBLADET ON NEW TECHNOLOGY
MEVIT 3220 students have the opportunity to visit Dagbladet Friday 17 November at 10:00. Meet outside the newspaper building in Akersgata 49 downtown at the latest 09:55. You may take the T-bane to Stortinget and leave the station towards "Grensen" or "Akersgata".
EXCURSION TO SCHIBSTED 7 NOV
The excursion to the media company Schibsted will take place Tuesday 7 November 09:30 to 11:30 for MA and BA in one group together (so there is no BA seminar Friday 10 Nov). You will learn about Schibsted's international activities. Take a look at their web page Please prepare good questions and send them (with "Schibsted" in the subject field) to Marius <marius@bungalab.com> within 3 Nov at noon. He will forward them to Schibsted. Meet downtown outside Schibsted in Apotekgata 10 no later than 09:25. Blue tram 17 and 18 stop close by.
IMPORTANT CHANGE IN SEMINAR PROGRAM
Due to change of time for the excursion to Schibsted we swop slots with the planned watching of video in week 45. Videos will be shown in the seminar 6 Oct. You could choose one or come to both:1015–12 (in room 2008): "Control Room" - on Al-Jazeera during the Iraq invation 2003. 1215–14 (in room 208): "Outfoxed - Rupert Murdochs war on journalism".
FILM FROM SOUTH FESTIVAL 5–15 OCT
The guest lecture by Dag Asbjornsen introduces the Film from South festival in Oslo 5-15 October. You are encouraged to take part in the festival, although it is not part of the MEVIT course.
SEMINAR ON ACADEMIC WRITING FRIDAY 15 SEPT
Knut Lundby's seminar on academic writing Friday 15 September will be in the two seminar groups, as usual. The invitation from the department directly to international students to a course on academic writing 2nd and 5th Oct is not to be mixed with the seminar 15 Sept. You may do both.

DETAILS ON EXCURSION TO NRK 12 SEPT
BA and MA students will make one joint excursion to the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK)Tuesday 12 Sept. Our host is Tomm Kristiansen, recently returned from several years as correspondent of Africa. Meet at the reception in the TV-house at 09:30. The excursion will last until noon. Marius Bakke will take those who do not know the place: meet outside the main reception to the Research Park (澳门葡京手机版app下载sparken) at 09:00 sharp for a walk to NRK. You reach Marius on <marius@bungalab.com> or mobile (+47)402 35 097. Please prepare good questions. This implies that there is no BA seminar on Friday 8 Sept.

Welcome to the course on media and globalisation this term! Important changes/messages will be relayed to you through the billboard on the course web site.
The seminars
Sarah Chiumbu has the main responsibility for the seminars. Three seminar groups are planned, one for the MA and two for the BA level. The MA group will meet on Tuesday, ahead of that week's lecture. The BA seminar groups meet on Friday, the day after the lecture. The MA seminars will to a large extent concentrate on the term paper (essay) that makes up the exam of MEVIT 4220.
