Teaching

The course is taught throughout the semester with 2 hours per week, 28 hours in all. There is a mid-term break (one week in autumn term, two weeks in spring term) during which the students are expected to prepare obligatory assignments (see below) and otherwise study on their own. 80% attendance required.

Examination

Each student must orally present an essay which is part of or in connection with the reading-list during the first half of term. In addition, all students must carry out a limited corpus paper to be presented orally at the seminary during the secound half of term.

In connection with the presentations the students will have to hand in a short written presentation making account for results and sources, and a database including the material organised systematically.

All assignments handed in for evaluation must be accompanied by an obligatory statement concerning cheating: http://www.uio.no/studier/emner/hf/ilos/Oblig-statement-cheating.rtf.

The final mark for the course is set on the basis of a three-day take-home exam. Both language and content will be part of the assessment, in addition quotations, references and examples must be properly presented.
