Course description
Course content
This course is an introduction to psycholinguistics, an interdisciplinary field that examines the interplay between language and the human mind, focusing on how we comprehend, produce, and acquire language. It combines insights from psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, and cognitive science and will cover the cognitive processes involved in understanding and using language, including topics such as language development, language processing, and the neural mechanisms underlying linguistic abilities.?

This course is for students admitted to Linguistics (master) and Multilingualism (master). Students enrolled in other Master's Degree Programmes can, on application, be admitted to the course if this is cleared by their own study programme.

Teaching
The course consists of 28 hours of teaching, divided into 14 double sessions spread throughout the semester.
A mandatory qualification assignment will be given during the semester. The dates for distribution and submission (via Canvas) will be announced at the beginning of the semester.
The assignment must be approved by the teacher before the student is eligible to take the final exam.
Approved mandatory activities remain valid for the next two times the course is offered.
A student who has completed compulsory instruction and coursework and has had these approved, is not entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework. A student who has been admitted to a course, but who has not completed compulsory instruction and coursework or had these approved, is entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework, depending on available capacity.
Examination
4 hour school exam.?
Language of examination
The examination questions are given in English.You may submit your response in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English.
