The topics of this course will vary from semester to semester, and reflect the interest of the teaching scholar.
Theme spring 2021:Introduction to modern Irish Learning outcome.
Learning outcome
The student should be able to read a medieval text closely and, with the help of linguistic and literary criticism, be able to position it contextually in time and place, and in the tradition to which it belongs.
Admission to the course
Students who are admitted to study programmes at UiO must each semester register which courses and exams they wish to sign up for in Studentweb.
Students enrolled in other Master`s Degree Programmes can, on application, be admitted to the course if this is cleared by their own study programme.

The course is only offered if at least 5 students are registered.

- 10 credits overlap with IRSK2160 – Specilization Course in Celtic.
Teaching
Teaching is given in the form of seminars and will amount to 28 hours in total.
One qualifying assignment has to be approved before the student may take the exam.
Access to teaching
A student who has completed compulsory instruction and coursework and has had these approved, is not entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework. A student who has been admitted to a course, but who has not completed compulsory instruction and coursework or had these approved, is entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework, depending on available capacity.
Examination
3 days home exam.
Language of examination
You may write your examination paper in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English.
Grading scale
Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
