IRSK2100 – Introduction to Old Irish

Course content
The course gives an intriduction to Old Irish grammar. Short texts will be studied.
Learning outcome
The students will learn the basic structure og Old Irish grammar and be able to read short texts.

IRSK1501 – Celtic Civilization - Mainland Celtic and Island Celtic (ca. 700 BC - ca. 1000 AD) (discontinued) og IRSK1100 – Innf?ring i irsk (discontinued)
Teaching
The teaching is given in seminars. 36 hours in total.
One qualifying assignment has to be approved before the student may sit for the final examination. If the assignment is not approved, the student has the opportunity to hand in a revised version for a second try.
Access to teaching
A student who has completed compulsory instruction and coursework and has had these approved, is not entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework. A student who has been admitted to a course, but who has not completed compulsory instruction and coursework or had these approved, is entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework, depending on available capacity.
Examination
The final mark for the course is set on the basis of a three-day take-home exam.

You should familiarize yourself with the rules that apply to the use of sources and citations. If you violate the rules, you may be suspected of cheating/attempted cheating.

Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.

Withdrawal from an examination
It is possible to take the exam up to 3 times. If you withdraw from the exam after the deadline or during the exam, this will be counted as an examination attempt.
