IBS4180 – Guided reading in Ibsen Studies
Course content
The student reads literature that is selected in consultation with the supervisor. The syllabus should be about 1000 pages, depending on the degree of difficulty.
Learning outcome
After completing the course, students will have advanced knowledge of central topics at the research front within the part of Ibsen Studies that the curriculum covers. The students also receive practice in the written presentation of these topics.
The final grade shows the extent to which the student has achieved the learning outcomes for the course.
Admission to the course
Admission to the course is limited to students in the Master`s program in Ibsen Studies (master's two years).
The course is held as an agreement between the student and the department/supervisor, where it naturally fits into the student`s study plan.
In order to be registered for the subject, students must apply for this in the form for supervised reading.
Application deadlines for applying:
autumn semester 15 August (the application will be processed by 25 August).
spring semester 15 January (the application will be processed by 25 January).
Teaching
Regular meetings with the supervisor.
Examination
Written term paper with 10 pages (à 2300 characters no spaces).
Submission of assignments at ILN
Language of examination
You may write your examination paper in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English.
Grading scale
Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail.
