The 10th class meeting will take place on the 28th of October, not the 26th, as originally announced. This is to give students extra days to revise their essays. The class will meet at the usual time on Thursday.
In week 41, class will meet on the 14th of October, not the 12th, as originally announced. Your essays, then, are due on the 14th. You may write in either English or Norwegian.

In the late Vedic age, kings organized large fire sacrifices. In the early medieval period, up to about 1000 CE, kings distinguished themselves through their gifts to religions specialists and institutions. Discuss the transition based on reading from the class reading list. Including Inden Dirks, Kulke, Thapar, Heitzman and the lecture by Price on the Vedic age.
