Abstract
Synaesthesia is a phenomenon where a current sensation or perception of something evokes the sensation or image of something else that is not there. It is a systematic, automatic, and highly idiosyncratic experience. Common forms involve spatial images and colors. Although not the most frequent type, a relatively common form of synaesthesia is linked to music (e.g., pitch -> color). Interestingly, many well-known musicians and composers are synaesthetes (or would like to be).?
