Telematic Testing: A Networked Music-Dance Performance

A networked music and dance performance at Popsenteret, organized by the AMBIENT project and MCT master students in collaboration with Popsenteret, Oslo.

A caption from Rehearsal. A networked music-dance performance

A networked music performance (NMP) is a musical performance done over a computer network. It enables musicians in different locations to perform together in real-time as if they were in the same room, connected via low-latency audio-video technology.

At this event, a group of musicians and dancers will conduct an NMP from two different locations inside Popsenteret. The performance will also be streamed online to a third location inside the building. So, it will be possible to experience the event from three different places simultaneously.

We invite the audience to explore the possibilities and limitations of this advanced telematic technology while enjoying great music and dance performance in telematic environments.
