RITMO's code of conduct was developed by RITMO members in 2018 and was revised in 2021. It shapes our thinking about how we work and collaborate. It includes the following inclusivity statement:
Our goal is to create an inclusive and respectful work environment that invites participation from people of all ethnicities, countries of origin, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, physical appearances, ages, physical abilities, economic backgrounds, scholarly or professional backgrounds, employment status, religions and beliefs of faith, and other differences.
Diversity measures such as working towards gender balance and bridging the gap between the global north and south are not only about recruitment. Equally important is the choice of research topics, experimental stimuli, and participant recruitment. Raising awareness about the importance of cultivating diversity at all levels has been, and continues to be, important at RITMO.
Diversity action plan
RITMO has a rolling diversity action plan that guides our work on the topic. It is updated bi-annually after discussions at one of our Tour de RITMO retreats.
