Berit Karseth er viserektor for utdanning ved Universitetet i Oslo (2025-2029).

Bakgrunn

Berit Karseth er Cand. Paed, Dr. Polit. og professor ved Institutt for pedagogikk ved UiO. Hennes forskningsmessige og faglige interesser retter seg mot reform- og endringsprosesser p? alle niv?er i utdanningssystemet. Karseth har ledererfaring fra arbeid med studie- og programrevisjoner p? instituttniv?, og var i perioden 2013-2016 dekan ved Det utdanningsvitenskapelige fakultet.

Jeg har v?rt og er involvert i en omfattende forskningsbasert evaluering av den siste l?replanreformen for grunnoppl?ringen kalt Fagfornyelsen.  Prosjektet omfatter fire arbeidspakker og rundt 20 forskere ved UV-fakultetet deltar. Jeg har siden 2011 v?rt involvert i to prosjekter st?ttet av Norsk forskningsr?d. I det ene er prosjektet  Policy Knowledge and Lesson Drawing in Nordic School Reform in  an Era of International Comparision (2018- 2023) unders?kte vi hvordan beslutningstakere i fem nordiske land anvender evidens og ekspertise n?r de utformer reformforslag for grunnutdanningen. I det andre prosjektet ?Legal standards and professional judgement in leadership? som ble avsluttet i 2016, unders?kte vi  hvordan ledere p? ulike niv?er i skolen fortolker og h?ndhever lovverket i et samspill med andre akt?rer. Oppmerksomheten var rettet mot rettsliggj?ringen av utdanningssystemet og den ?kte betydningen juridiske standarder har f?tt gjennom nasjonalt tilsyn. I dette prosjektet deltok forskere fra b?de Det utdanningsvitenskapelig fakultet og Det juridiske fakultet.
