What is research data management and why is it increasingly important?
Bring your code and start writing tests with the help of a mentor!
This online event is a combination of workshop (17th Mar) and hackathon (24th Mar) for you who are already working on scientific programming but not yet extensively testing your codes or scripts. Participation by a team is recommended.
Do you want or need to learn Python programming for your research but have no or little previous knowledge? Do you want to refresh your basic skills in Python programming? Or you want your team members to learn Python? Then this workshop is for you and/or your team!
This course is especially suitable to new researchers or students trying to understand computational/data analysis options available at UiO and in general. It won’t go into anything too deep but will provide you with a good background for your next steps to use the resources: you will know the general types of resources you can use for computing, and be able to take the next steps.
Conda is an open source package and environment management system. This workshop is for you who wants to learn more about use of Conda as a development tool for building and sharing project specific software environments that facilitate reproducible (data) science workflows.
Are you already familiar version control with Git and an online collaborative platform like GitHub or GitLab? Are you willing to make a nice website using GitHub and GitLab Pages? Excellent Carpentries instructors will guide you to learn Jekyll step-by-step. The workshop is hosted by UW-Madison but open to others.
