Formidlingsr?dets ?rsseminar 2025: Utstillinger for en ny museumshverdag

Vikingene pakker sammen og flytter ut av Historisk museum. Tiden for de ville tanker g?r mot slutten, og det skal meisles ut en ny utstillingsstrategi.

I 2022 presenterte ICOM en ny museumsdefinisjon, og museer over hele verden jobber med ? sette definisjonens innhold ut i praksis. Det er ogs? p?trykk fra samfunnet utenfor de kulturhistoriske museene om ? endre praksis og tenke nytt om hvem som formidler og hvem man formidler til.

Vi ser p? eksempler fra institusjoner som kan gi inspirasjon inn i strategiarbeidet.

Decolonising Museum Practice: Co-curating Manchester Museum’s South Asia Gallery. By Nusrat Ahmed, chief curator, and Talat Farooq-Awan, journalist/co-curator, Manchester Museum

This is the first permanent gallery in the UK to celebrate the experiences and contribution of the South Asian diaspora. We will highlight some of our working methods and experiences.

Cultural Heritage Crime and public outreach: Networks, potentials and pitfalls

The Museum of Cultural History has been entrusted with national responsibility for addressing cultural heritage crime, a domain marked by complexities in exhibitions and public communication despite significant public interest. Several critical questions emerge: Who are the target audiences? What content should and can be conveyed? To what extent should the museum assume the role of a societal actor in this field?
