This issue of MarIus contains a wide selection of papers by extinguished European maritime law scholars who gave presentations during the 7th European Colloquium on Maritime Law Research (ECMLR) which took place in Palermo 27-28 September 2012.
A research group was established in January 2012 at the Faculty of Law by researchers interested in law of contracts in an international perspective. Articles from the kick-off seminar of the research group are now published in MarIus.
After the conference Rule of Law for Nature in May 2012 the most visionary contributions were chosen for publishing. Editor is Professor Christina Voigt, who also headed the conference set up by the Research group in natural resources law.

This is the first edition of a handbook in Norwegian hull insurance based on the Norwegian Marine Insurance Plan 1996 Version 2007 with a comparative look to English marine insurance. The authors are Trine-Lise Wilhelmsen and Hans Jacob Bull, both professors at the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law.
