Administration
- MA courses: Silje Agnete Slatleim - Det samfunnsvitenskapelige fakultet
- BA courses: Siri Margrethe Kj?lhamar - Institutt for statsvitenskap (ISV) (uio.no)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Course convenors have two options:
Option 1:
The course convenor sends the readning list in Word format by email to the administration (Silje and Siri). The administration edits the reading list in Leganto.
The course convenor can choose whether they want the Leganto list in alphabetical order or in order of the lectures:
Alphabetical order: The course convenor organize the list alphabetically within the groups: books, online syllabus, and compendium articles.
Order of lectures: The course convenor organize the list according to the texts assigned for each lecture. Here is an example: STV2350 S24 Autocratic Politics.
Important: New articles/chapters should be marked in green. Items not on this semester's list will be deleted in Leganto. If you are using compendium articles, you must send them to the administration by email in PDF format, or place the books in the post shelves on the 7th floor.
Option 2:
The course convenor adds/deletes books, online articles and compendium articles (without PDF) directly in Leganto and selects the tab "send syllabus list to the library". The course convenor sends the compendium articles to the administration by email in PDF format, or place the books in the post shelves on the 7th floor.
The Leganto list must be sent to the Library by April 15th/October 15th as Akademika use the lists to order books for the coming semester.

Books:
Akademika retrieves the book list directly from Leganto around mid-May for the autumn semester and around mid-October for the spring semester. The books must be placed in a separate section called "Textbooks", so Akademika sees what needs to be ordered.
Lecturers and seminar leaders can purchase textbooks in two ways: either with their own research funds (driftsmidler) or by providing the sub-project code (delprosjektskode) for BA/MA teaching when purchasing books from Akademika. Books purchased with the sub-project code must be returned by the end of the semester. Books purchased with research funds can be kept. Contact Jenny de Figueiredo if you need the sub-project code to obtain seminar curriculum.
Books can be ordered like other goods/services, via the online form “B?ker,” which can be found at the bottom of this page: Bestilling av varer og tjenester for SV-fakultetet - For ansatte - Universitetet i Oslo. The books will be sent by mail from Akademika Bedrift.
Online articles:
All articles must be accessible through the students' UiO accesses. Check that the articles are open access or available through the University Library's journal database.
Compendium:
Compendia are digital and published in Leganto. Students can order printed compendia through Grafisk senter.
Course convenors send compendium articles as PDF to the administration via email with information about whether the articles are new or old syllabus. If the compendium consists of excerpts from physical books, the books can be handed over to the administration or directly to the Grafisk senter for copying.
The following is allowed to publish without rights clearance:
-
15% of a book or similar publication
-
One article from one and the same issue of a scientific journal
-
Periodic publications such as newspapers, magazines, cultural, and professional journals without volume limitations
-
Brochures and other publications intended for free distribution
-
Exam questions
-
Works legally posted on open internet sites
-
Works where more than 70 years have passed since the end of the author's year of death.
If the compendium consists of excerpts beyond these rates, the Grafisk senter must submit an application to Bolk for permission from the publisher or author. Rights clearance takes time, costs money, and can be denied.
The Grafisk senter ensures compliance with the terms of the Kopinor agreement for universities and colleges.
