Course Evaluation at ISV

All courses must be evaluated each time they are held. The purpose is to ensure continuous development of the courses. As part of the evaluation, students should have the opportunity to provide feedback and have a dialogue with the course convenor about the quality of the course.

Student Contact

  • Each course should have a student contact. It is the course convenor's responsibility to ensure that a student contact is appointed in one of the first lectures. Courses can have multiple student contacts if the course convenor deems it appropriate.

  • The student contact is a student taking the course who acts as a link between the course convenor and their fellow students. The student contact's task is to collect and provide feedback to the course convenor. The purpose is to identify challenges early so they can be resolved quickly.

Mid-term and final evaluation

Students should be given the opportunity to provide feedback in a more structured way at least twice during the teaching period.

  • A mid-term evaluation

  • A final evaluation

The course convenor must have at least one formal meeting with the student contact, either mid-way or at the end of the semester. The second time, feedback can be gathered using, for example, a questionnaire, a discussion in a lecture, or a panel conversation. For more information and support, see "Toolbox for Student Evaluation" and "Course Evaluation in Nettskjema" below.

Course Evaluation in Nettskjema

Nettskjema now has a dedicated function for course evaluation. The course evaluation form makes it easier to get the right student group as recipients and ensures the correct settings for anonymous answers.

Evaluation report

It is the course convenor who writes and submits the evaluation report in Nettskjema. The deadline is two weeks after the last teaching session.

The report should be a brief summary. It must:

  • Summarize the most important feedback from the students.

  • Provide a professional assessment of the quality of the course.

  • Describe any adjustments made before the start based on previous evaluations and adjustments made during the course.

  • Suggest further development of the course before the next time it is offered.

The study administration ensures that the report is processed by the program council and published on the website for study quality for the program.
