ID cards

All ISS employees are provided with a personal ID card from the University of Oslo, which also functions as a key card. Employees are required to carry this card with them at all times. The ID card allows one to enter buildings and rooms on the Blindern campus.

Your ID card is the only way to enter Georg Morgenstiernes hus and classrooms all day during summer. Remember your ID card's 4-digit code to be able to get in to the building. You also need the card to be able to use the printers, and to borrow materials at the University Library

How to get an ID card

Some of you may have your key card from previous ISS sessions, and these can be used again. If you have lost this card, you can quickly re-print one at the SiO Centre in Kristian Ottosens hus, adjacent to Akademika bookstore.

If it is your first time teaching at the ISS, the SiO Centre takes digital pictures and prints out key cards on demand.

Security

Do not lend your key card to anyone, not even colleagues. The University of Oslo is routinely plagued by theft and illegal entry. If students, staff or faculty lend their key cards to others, this may result in your key card being confiscated. Remember that your key card leaves “electronic footprints” and that misuse can be traced.
