Health Insurance

To participate in the International Summer School (ISS), you must have health insurance coverage. Please note that ISS does not provide health insurance.

Health insurance for students from countries outside the EU/EEA

International students from non-EU/EEA countries staying in Norway for less than 3 months are responsible for making sure that they have valid health insurance. Please clarify with your insurance provider whether your coverage applies to Norway.

We strongly recommend a travel insurance in addition.

Health insurance for students from EU/EEA countries

You must bring a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with you from your home country.* This entitles you to medical care on the same conditions as the citizens of the EU/EEA country you are visiting.?

If you do not have a European Health Insurance Card, you must have private health insurance. We strongly recommend a travel insurance in addition.

* Exemption: Nordic citizens are entitled to medical care under the National Health Insurance Scheme (Folketrygden) without any insurance documentation.?
