The?University of Oslo and?the International Summer School have a number of partner universities around the world. Tuition fee and participation fee are waived for exchange students from these partner institutions. However, exchange students are still required to cover accommodation costs.
Exchange students can only apply for our 4-week BA and MA courses (10 ECTS), but not for the 6-week Norwegian courses.
Before applying as an exchange student, you must be nominated by your home university, in the online nomination form for the International Summer School.?Contact your home university for information on how to receive a nomination for summer exchange.

About the application process
The International Summer School's 18 partner universities will receive an email with nomination instructions and a link to the ISS online nomination form. Nominated exchange students from these partner universities will then receive an email from the International Summer School with application instructions.?
Nomination deadline for the partner universities: February 15, 2026
Application deadline for the nominated student: March 1, 2026
Other UiO partner universities
Current students from Circle U.universities are exempt from the participation fee. Students holding EU, EEA or Swiss citizenship are also exempt from the tuition fee. Please upload a document on your current student status at a Circle U. university in S?knadsweb. Please contact iss@admin.uio.no for more information.
Students from all UiO exchange partner universities can apply. You may be eligible for an exemption from tuition fee and the participation fee. Please contact your home university’s International Office to check possibilities for a nomination process for the International Summer School. The International Office at your home university may contact ISS at iss@admin.uio.no.
