A Summer of Learning, Friendship, and Global Connection at ISS 2025

This summer, Oslo became a meeting point for nearly 500 students from across the globe, as the International Summer School transformed the campus into a vibrant arena for global learning, cultural exchange, and new friendships.

With seven undergraduate courses and three graduate-level offerings, ISS 2025 proved to be a resounding success and a truly global classroom: ISS 2025 welcomed students from 63 nations around the world.

Students explored topics ranging from peace studies to environmental sustainability. Some of the classes stepped outside the classroom for study-related excursions in Oslo and its scenic surroundings. New this year was a three-week course in Norwegian language and culture: "Norway p? norsk".

Beyond academics, ISS hosted a vibrant calendar of social events, enabling students to build lasting friendships and cross-cultural understanding. Feedback from student evaluations was overwhelmingly positive.

The program continues to fulfill its mission: advancing knowledge in an international context and fostering intercultural dialogue.

Applications for ISS 2026 open on January 2, with the deadline on March 1. Courses begin in June 2026. Whether you're looking to deepen your academic knowledge or connect with peers from around the world, the International Summer School at the University of Oslo is the place to be next summer.
