If there are still available places in other seminar groups for your course, you can change your seminar group on your own in Studentweb.
If you are unable to change your seminar group in Studentweb, that means that all seminar groups are currently full.
If so, you can apply to change groups by submitting a form ( bokm?l / nynorsk / English ) .
When to apply for a change in seminargroups
You can apply to change your seminar group if you meet one of the following critera:
- You have been assigned to a group that overlaps with lectures or seminars on a different course at UiO, or
- You are responsible for the care of a family member, or have similar substantial reasons why you cannot attend.
You can apply for, but are not guaranteed, a change of seminar groups if you have been placed on a seminar that you picked as a priority choice in Studentweb when you signed up for the course. Therefore, we advise you to pay attention to which seminar groups you pick for your first, second, and third priority.
If you do discover that your seminar group overlaps with other teaching after the deadline for applying for a change of seminars, please send an email to studiekonsulent@media.uio.no . Please include the following in your email:
- Your full name and student number
- Which course and seminar group you are on, as well as all seminar groups you are able to change to
- The course that overlaps
When and how will you receive an answer for your application?
We process all applications in the order that they are received. If your application is not granted, you will receive an email. If your application is granted, you will see your new seminar group in Studentweb. Please allow for up to a week to have your application processed.
