Programme structure
The honours certificate runs in parallel with your full master's programme. As a student enrolled in the honours certificate, you will complete 20 ECTS credits in addition to the credits in your main degree subject.
The Honours Certificate in Education for Sustainable Health includes the following mandatory and elective modules:
Mandatory interdisciplinary modules, 15 ECTS

ESH4100 – Education for Sustainable Health (10 ECTS) - spring and autumn semester
Elective module, 5 ECTS
The Honours Certificate in Education for Sustainable Health offers the following elective course as part of the certificate structure:
- ESH4200 – Narrative Approaches in Medical Education (5 ECTS) - autumn semester
You can choose to substitute the elective course that is offered in this honours certificate, with an elective course outside of your regular master’s programme if the course is deemed relevant to the certificate. This will count towards the certificate and its progression towards 20 ECTS. To apply, please contact helsam-studentinfo@helsam.uio.no, stating which course you wish to take.
