Job opportunities

Many of our students go on to PhD programs in Norway or abroad. Relevant PhD positions can be found both within basic science, and at hospitals, where candidates apply their theoretical and methodological competence within clinical research. Our candidates bring a unique skill-set to interdisciplinary research groups, such as neuroimaging, statistics, and theoretical frameworks.

As with any MA degree within social sciences, this MA programme also qualifies you for jobs where analytical and writing skills, critical thinking and experience with researching new information and handling complex data is needed. Examples are consultancy agencies, municipal and governmental bodies such as Helsedirektoratet and Buf-Dir, and organizations. Some of our candidates build on their quantitative methods and programming skills, so that they can apply their competence within data management and statistics for business corporations.

Note that even though clinical research is promoted, this MA program does not qualify you to become a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist of clinical neuropsychologist in Norway.
