An online alternative to the world’s only Ibsen Studies programme
Ibsen Studies Online is a fully internet-based and largely asynchronous master’s programme, offered as an alternative to our in-person Ibsen Studies master’s programme.
Why study Ibsen online?
Enrolling in the online master’s programme, you have the opportunity to study from wherever you are in the world.
The programme offers flexibility and autonomy within a guided framework and you will have online interactions with world leading experts on Ibsen. The asynchronous nature of Ibsen Studies Online makes it particularly suitable for combination with other commitments, and you can study full or part time.
Although this study option is mostly digital you will have the opportunity to actively participate in online discussions and group projects. You will also have the opportunity to learn from directors, playwrights, actors, or dramaturgs through various online materials created specifically for Ibsen Studies Online.
Our online programme offers the option of either writing a 60 ECTS master's thesis over two semesters or writing a shorter 30 ECTS master’s thesis and dedicating your third semester to an internship working remotely with the digital resources at CIS. The project semester is carried out under supervision of our digital manager and other specialists in digital scholarship.
