What do you like best about your job?
– Working as an enterprise architect within eHealth and healthcare offers the opportunity to shape sustainable solutions that improve the quality of life for citizens and supports healthcare operations. The role allows for innovation in a crucial sector, with projects positively impacting patient care and overall healthcare efficiency. Trying to streamline processes and improving communication channels ensure that healthcare professionals and other stakeholders can perform their duties more effectively and with greater satisfaction, contributing to a more robust and supportive healthcare system.
What are your main responsibilities?
– My primary responsibilities include designing and implementing interoperable systems that facilitate better communication and data exchange between various entities. I focus on integrating welfare technology to enhance citizen services, ensuring that the solutions we work with are sustainable and future-proof. Additionally, I work on improving communication channels between healthcare providers and next of kin, fostering a more connected and supportive environment for the inhabitants of B?rum.
Why did you choose to study Health Economics, Policy and Management?
– I chose to study Health Economics, Policy, and Management at UiO because I have always been passionate about addressing the challenges in healthcare and leveraging both technology and theory to solve complex problems and improve people's lives. The interdisciplinary nature of the HEPMA program, combining elements of economics, healthcare policies, and management, appealed to me as it offered diverse career opportunities and the potential to make a significant impact.
What did you particularly enjoy about your studies?
– One aspect I particularly enjoyed about my studies was the opportunity to work on projects that tackled real-world issues. This practical experience allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life scenarios, improving my understanding and skills. Additionally, I valued learning from industry experts and participating in ongoing research within the department, which fostered a continuous learning environment.

– For new students I would advise in finding ways to stand out! Network with professionals in the field and stay updated on industry trends is also crucial and can help shape potential career paths. Finally, never stop to learn and be open to acquire new skills, as the technology and healthcare sectors are constantly evolving.
