Programme structure
The Honours certificate runs in parallel with your full Master's programme. As a student enrolled in the Honours certificate, you will complete 20 ECTS credits in addition to the 120 ECTS credits in your main degree subject, within two years' time.

The Honours certificate in Environmental Humanities and Sciences includes the following mandatory and elective modules:
Mandatory interdisciplinary modules, 15 ECTS
- EHS4000 – Knowing Natures: Environmental Research Seminar (10 ECTS, two semesters)
- EHS4010 – Welcome to the Anthropocene: Interdisciplinary Lecture Series (5 ECTS)
Elective modules, 5 ECTS
You have to finish one or more of the following courses. You are required to choose an Elective Course from outside your own discipline.
We strongly recommend taking your elective module in the autumn, in accordance with the recommended course of study. Students who need to adjust their course of study can take elective modules in the spring where needed.

It is possible to apply for recognition of 5 credits taken in other subjects when these can be seen as relevant for the certificate. To apply, please contact studentinfo@ikos.uio.no, stating which course you wish to take. Remember to apply well ahead of the semester in which you plan to take the course.
