Routines for Submission of the thesis, the final examination, and the examiners of the thesis.
The regulations for the Masters program are based on the "Regulations concerning courses, course groups and degrees at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences . The program board and the Educational board also has the ability and opportunity to provide more specific/additional rules within the given framework in this regulation or in their own mandate.
Thesis submission
All students must submit their master's thesis in Inspera and in StudentWeb by the set submission deadline. Plagiarism checks will be conducted on all master's theses.
The thesis can be printed by the Graphic Center:
Log in with your username and password and choose "UiO orders". IBV covers the cost of 15 copies in black and white or colored print, for max NOK 1000. Payment information: 15550000 (koststed)-102420154 (delprosjekt) If you choose other ways of printing, you will have to pay for that yourself.
A standard cover page is available on this page.
The thesis should also be sent to your supervisor, who will ensure that the censors receive a copy. Your supervisor and the examiners will decide if they want a printed version in addition to a PDF.
The Exam
Once the thesis is submitted, a master's defence (a presentation followed by an oral examination) must be held 3 - 6 weeks after thesis submission. All courses must be passed prior to the master's defence. Your supervisor is responsible for finding an external and internal censor. Your supervisor will also inform the Study section about the name of the censors and the time for the exam. The Study section will in turn prepare the necessary paperwork, and reserve a room for the exam.
Any borrowed IT equipment must be returned to the IT section at IBV and keys must be returned to the IBV expedition office. A clerance form must be filled out and sent to studieinfo@ibv.uio.no.
The diplomas at UiO have been made digital and can be found in the Diploma registry
