With a Master’s in Biology you can obtain a position both in the public and private sector, e.g.
- in consultancy agencies in various ministries,
- directorates in counties and municipalities, or
- in biological or environmental research institutes and industries.
If you take one year of practical pedagogy, you will also be qualified to teach in secondary schools.
Further research
If you are interested in pursuing a career in research at an academic institution or in industry, you can continue with PhD studies at a Norwegian institution or an institution abroad. Most universities and many publicly financed institutions all over the world focus on research related to the topics you have studied during the Master’s programme in Biology.
