What grant can I get?
You can only get funding for approved Blended intensive programmes (BIP)
If you have been accepted to a BIP, you have to contact the Erasmus-team to get guidance, minimum two months before the mobility.?
Students going on a short term mobility will receive 79 EUR each day for day 1-14. The grant is meant to cover some of the extra costs related to studying abroad, but is not meant to finance the exchange period in full.
The University of Oslo is allocated funds for one academic year at a time, and the terms may vary from year to year. For 2025/2026, a maximum of five days of scholarship may be granted.
It is possible to apply for a travel grant. If at least 50% of the trip is done by using green means of transport, you may apply for a green travel grant instead of an ordinary travel grant. Green travel is by train, bus, bicycle or carpooling. Please note that the travel must be from Oslo, to Oslo.?
Here you can see some examples of how the grant is calculated
| Destination | Travel distance | Green travel grant | Travel grant |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copenhaven, Gothenburg | 100 - 499 km | 285 EUR | 211 EUR |
| Paris, Berlin, Brussels | 500 - 1999 km | 417 EUR | 309 EUR |
| Rome, Athens, Madrid | 2000 - 2999 km? | 535 EUR | 395 EUR |
?
Some students may qualify for a top-up for 100 EUR for short term mobility that lasts from 5 to 14 days, and 150 EUR for short term mobility that lasts from 15 to 30 days.
This might be a possibility for students that have:
- functional impairment or chronical diseases,
- refugee status,
- children,
- students who belong to Indigenous peoples and national minorities
Please contact the Erasmus-team if you think you are eligible for a top-up grant.

Language Assesment
You will be offered a free online language test before your exchange stya. The test assesses your level in the language you will be studying in, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). When you return after your mobility, you can take a new test and find out how you have developed linguistically during your mobility.?
How do I take the test??
Everyone who is to take the language test will be contacted by the University of Oslo with information about registration and how to complete it.?
The host institution will not have access to your test results unless you give your consent, and it is not the intention that the result of the language test should affect your opportunity to go on exchange through Erasmus+.?
Sign the Grant Agreement
Before you can receive the grant, you have to sign and submit an Erasmus+ Grant Agreement.
UiO will send you the Grant Agreement when you have been registered by your department/Faculty and before departure.?
Learning Agreement
The Learning Agreement states which courses you will take abroad.Read the procedure for recognition at your faculty. The courses for short term mobility do not need to be recognised as part of your degree.
Your faculty at UiO will send you the Learning Agreement by email prior to departure. The Learning Agreement must be signed by you, the agreement coordinator at UiO, and your host institution.
If you make changes in the course selection you must update the Learning Agreement and get the changes approved by UiO.
