A Breathing Wreckage is a photographic essay by Anastasia bertheussen exploring the multispecies relationships found after a plane crash. The project uses perspectives from disciplines such as archaeology, anthropology, and biology to explore both the trauma and possibilities a crash gives to a forest ecosystem. How does the landscape react, adapt, and create new ways of living? What does the cohabitation of humans, objects, flora, and fauna look like? The project is presented as a book that combines photography, prose, and poetry.
