How to get the most out of career counseling
In career counseling, you are the expert on your own life. The counselor will ask you questions and assist you in the process of reflecting on your skills, motivation, and desires within career-related topics.
What are you wondering about?
Think about what you're curious about in advance. You may not always know exactly what you want to talk about, but if you consider it beforehand, you might find some topics we can focus on. Feel free to look at the examples of topics we can discuss above. This will give us a solid foundation for productive counseling.
Do you want a review of your CV or application?
If you would like to review a general CV and application, you should bring a computer or printed drafts of your CV and application, so we have something to discuss together.
If you want feedback on your CV and application for a specific job posting, make sure to bring the job posting along with your CV and application drafts.
Would you like to prepare for an interview?
Bring the job posting if you want to practice for a specific interview. Familiarize yourself with the job ad, the company you're applying to, what they stand for, and why you want to apply for that job.
We can also do general interview training without it being for a specific position.
