Creating a WebID user

Please note that you do not need to create a WebID user if you already have a Feide user.

To create a WebID user:

1. Go to webid.uio.no.
2. Click Create a WebID account.
3. Enter the necessary information.
   • Username is your identifier in all services you have access to. This cannot be changed later.
   • The e-mail address must be validated before the WebID user is created. It can be changed later.
4. When the form has been completed correctly, you will receive an e-mail with a link to confirm. Your WebID user will only be activated when you have clicked that link

Now you have a WebID user. To begin with, the user onlyallows you to log on to webid.uio.no and not to any services that support WebID. To gain access to a service, you need to be given access by a Feide or UiO user. The Feide user must go to WebID and invite you to become a member of a WebID group that gives you access to the service.
