Guest users

Guests who visit UiO for a short period of time, can gain access to some of our IT services by being given a temporary account, a guest user.

How do I get a guest user?

If you are a guest and need access to IT-services at UiO, ask your contact-person at UiO, also called sponsor or host.

If you're an employee at UiO and are responsible for a guest getting an IT-account, sign in to Guest Registration and assign the guest a role in your department, or invite them to register if not already registered.

If the guest needs to access the wireless network, you as an employee at UiO may set up a wireless guest account for them.

What if I am unable to register the guest in Guest Registration?

There are also some older guest types, handled by local IT through bofh. They have the usernames  "gjest001-gjest999" and "guest001-guest999. These are extremely rarely used today, and are only used where it's not possible to register the guest through Guest Registration.
