What can I store and where can I store it?
The most importan thing is that you store and process files and data the correct place. It is not enough to have a secure copy of your files in the correct place. You must also be sure that all work being done with the files and data, so called processing of personal data, happens on approved equipment. This is done in three steps:
- Consider: What type of information, files and data do you usually process?
- Find out what information class applies to this information. See examples below.
- Look at the data storage guide and follow it.
Examples of information in different information classes
Please be advised that this is not a exhaustive list of examples.
Open (Green)
- Research open for the public
NB! All information that is not public must be removed before the document(s) are published.
Restricted (Yellow)
- Documents you do not want to share with others.
- Data files from chromotography instruments.
- Datasets containing smaller amounts of non-sensitive personal data.
- Your CV.
- E-mail attachments that does not contain confidential information.
- Overview of the research group's telephone numbers.
- Assignments made for students.
In confidence (Red)
- Research data containing larger amounts of (regular) personal information.
- Research data containing sensitive personal data.
- Interviews of persons in connection with research.
- Lists of persons sexual orientation.
- Video recordings of participants in research projects.
Strictly in confidence (Black)
- Research data that demands special protection, for example interviews with persons with hidden identities.
- Larger amounts of health information.
