Forwarding calls

If you are unable to answer a call, you can forward them.

Forwarding is activated and adjusted in the banner "viderekobling" (forwarding) in ukomm. Ukomm is only available in Norwegian at the moment.

There are three main categories of forwarding:

  • Always ("Alltid"). Calls are forwarded without delay. This is previously known as "medflytting".
  • No answer ("Ikke svar"). Calls are forwarded after a time delay.
  • Busy ("Opptatt"). Calls are forwarded when the line is busy.

You can forward to your mobile phone, another extension ("intern-nummer) or voicemail ("Talepost"). If you have an UiO owned mobile, select UiO-mobil. If you need to forward calls to your private mobile, select Privat mobil.

The alternative call waiting ("samtale venter") is used when the phone has more than one line. The caller will not get a busy signal, and the recipient will get a signal that there are callers waiting. This option is mostly used by receptions and switch boards. Currently not available.

Under advanced options ("avanserte innstillinger") there is one more available choice:

  • Not connected ("Ikke tilkoblet"). Calls are forwarded if no phone is associated with the user. This is possible because a phone number is associated with a user, not a phone.
