When you are in a list you manage, click on Admin in the menu on the left. Then select Manage Subscribers or click on Subscribers at the top of the left margin, where you will also see the number of members.
Add members
Click on Manage subscribers and fill in the person's email address To add an individual user and click on Add. Check Quiet first if you do not want an email about the membership to be automatically sent to the new member.
To add multiple members at once, press the Multiple add button. You will then get a text box where you can enter one e-mail address per line, possibly also the name of the member. Be sure to include a space between your email address and name. Click on Add subscribers. Tick ??Quiet if you do not want an email about the membership to be automatically sent to the new members.
Pending subscriptions shows who wants to join the list. This only applies to lists that require the approval of new members.
Add another list as a member
This can no longer be done by the list owner. Contact postmaster-kontakt@usit.uio.no for assistance in adding lists to lists.
Note! You should only do this if you either own both lists or have obtained consent from the other list's owners!
Remove members
Tick ??the box to the right of the address(es) you want to remove and click on Delete selected email addresses. If you do not want information to be sent out to those concerned that membership on the list has ended, the Quiet must be ticked. If there is no route you can tick off, it means that the member is included either via another list or a data source. You can see which source it is under sources. Click on the Synchronize members with data sources button and the list will be updated.
Extract file with the list members
On the page where you manage members, there are buttons for Dump and Dump with names at the top of the page. A dump gives you a text file with all the list members, one email address (and name) per line.
Be critical of what you use the addresses for - they should not be given out without further ado. Also remember that Sympa can automatically include members from one list in another (must be ordered through postmaster-kontakt@usit.uio.no)
