My UiO PC: Mapping home directory

Note:

This guide only applies to UiO-owned and -operated PCs within the concept of 'My UiO-PC'.

Students and others with private computers or different platforms can find assistance in the guides linked on the UiO Home Directory web page.

Home Directory

App in Company Portal

1. Open Company Portal and search for 'UiO Legacy home drive', then select Install.

2. When it has finished installing, you will get a file explorer window with the home directory.

3. After running it the first time, there will also be a shortcut in file explorer.

4. In the Company portal, the app will be listed as Installed, with the option to Reinstall.

 

Create via file explorer

1.Start File Explorer(1) and select This PC(2)

2. Right-click and select Add a network location

3. Click on Next and you will be taken to this page. Then check Choose a custom network location and click Next.

4. Here you enter the address of your home area, it is in the form \\disknavn.uio.no\enhet\username, see here if you're not sure what this is.

Click Next.

5. Enter the desired name for the home area, your username comes up by default. Click Next.

6. Finally, just click Finish, then you will find your home area under Network Locations.
