(These are images of how it looks on Windows 11 - if you have an older operating system or a different machine, it may look different for you)
-
Select keyboard language and click Next. If you are setting up the PC on a wireless network (wifi), log on to Eduroam using the form username@uio.no.
-
Log in with username@uio.no, click Next at the bottom right.
- You will then be redirected to the login page for (Universities and Colleges sector). Check that your username is displayed in the form: username@uio.no and enter your password.
- Now you will be prompted for 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication), which is a security requirement for most IT services at UiO. If you have not set up 2FA before, you can set it up yourself with this guide, or contact IT Help.
-
Next, you need to log in to Windows with username@uio.no, and you will receive a 2FA request again.
Please note! If you have used a wireless network to set up your PC, you may need to log in to wifi again. Click on the globe in the lower right corner in that case. - The PC is now being configured: "Please wait while we set up your device..." It takes some time, around 30 minutes. When it's finished, you will be on the desktop. Then you can start using the PC.
