Setup of an UiO owned Mac registered in Apple School Manager (ASM / DEP). This registration connects the Mac to UiO. The initial setup will commence when you turn on the Mac for the first time.
This process inis designed to make it easy for you to do this setup yourself. It should take no more than 10 to 15 minutes. It is a requirement that the Mac is able to go online.
Transfer of content from another Mac or a Time Machine backup must be done after enrolment and setup is finished. Do not start "Restore from backup" during the setup process.
When you turn on your Mac the first time, you will be met by the setup assistant, which will guide you through the setup.
? Choose language, country and keyboard layout, and click Continue.
? Connect to a network - wifi or cable - and click Continue.
You will now see a notice that your Mac is managed by UiO.
? Click Continue
? Log in with your UiO username and password
Your MAc will now be enrolled in Workspace One, and a user account is made.
? Choose whether to allow Location services
If you do not allow this, you must choose the appropriate time zone.
? Log in with user name and password
Go through the rest of the setup procedure, and choose the settings you want. You might skip these for now, and choose them later if you wish.
When the assistant is finsihed, DEPnotify will start. This process installs and readies UiO's Managed Software Center, and programs and drivers common to all UiO Macs.
When DEPNotify is finished, you might see a notification prompting you to encrypt your disc to secure your data.
? Log out and enter your password when prompted. The Mac will log in again, and is then ready for use. If you want to move data from an older Mac to your new one, now is the time.
