Digital Signage – Create Playlist

Purpose Assemble a series of media files to be played on the information screens.

Procedure

  1. Go to Playlists in the CMS and click + New
  2. Name: use building + topic, e.g. Georg Sverdrups hus – Auditorium.
  3. Enter a short description; leave Playlist Type set to Media → Create
  4. Open the playlist and select Add Media → tick the files → Add & Close
  5. Adjust display duration or transitions under the Properties tab as required
  6. Copy existing playlists via Duplicate for quick reuse

Tips

  • Keep one screen = one playlist where possible; this simplifies troubleshooting
  • Use folders and Filters to locate media quickly

Common Errors

Error Cause Solution
Media does not play The file was moved or deleted Update the playlist with the correct file location
Empty playlist Forgot to click Add & Close Add the media again and confirm
