Log in to BookitLab UiO with UiO/UiB Feide account

You need UiO/UiB Feide-account to log in to BookitLab. 

  1. Go to UiO's BookitLab website.BookitLab login page showing the Feide Login button under the welcome message.
  2. Click the Feide Login button. You will be redirected to the Feide login page.
  3. Read the information that will be sent to the service to complete the login. If it is acceptable, click Yes, continue.
    • You can see details by clicking on each category displayed.
    • BookitLab UiO is provided by a server located within the EU region.
    • If you are affiliated with two different sections (or similar), for example, both as an employee and a student, you will be asked to select an Org Unit. Choose the one that is correct for your use of BookitLab UiO.BookitLab's message to choose an org unit with selection list.If you encounter any problems proceeding after selecting one, try with another browser or incognito/private window of the same browser.
  4. You will be taken back to BookitLab UiO, which will ask you to select a core (or multiple). All users must select at least one core to use the system.The page showing a search field and several cores to choose from.If you have a specific lab (core) you want to use, click on the card of that core and you will be taken to its Dashboard.
    • The selected core acts as a filter so that only instruments/services offered by that core are displayed on the Dashboard.
    • Core names consist of "[abbreviation for institute/center, etc.] - [name of the lab or equivalent]"
    • If you want to choose multiple cores, check the checkboxes on the cards (or rows in table view) of those cores, and click the Continue with Selected button.Two cores with checkboxes checked and the 'continue with selected' button visible.
    • If you want to find out what cores are available, it is also useful to look at the publicly published list of cores/instruments/services. Note that not all cores/instruments/services are visible outside the BookitLab UiO system.
  5. When you are on the Dashboard, you can only see instruments/services within the core you have selected. If you are looking for instruments/services in other cores, search from the search box on the toolbar by turning on the Search all cores toggle.At the top of the page there is a toolbar. There is a search box in the middle. When you enter the search box, a modal window appears with the 'Search all cores' toggle. Turn this on and search for instruments and services.
