Closing event for students with summer research projects from UiO:Life Science

This summer 50 students gained work experience from a research project with a scholarship from UiO:Life Science. The closure of this year's summer projects was celebrated with presentations, a poster exhibition, and a prize ceremony.

The summer projects provide bachelor's and master's students with practical experience with research projects which address a social challenge in health or the environment. The initiative was created by UiO:Life Science in 2018 and is very popular among the students.

Poster exhibition, presentations and prize ceremony

The programme of the event included a poster exhibition summarizing the students' research projects, an inspirational talk by former summer student, Markéta Chlubnová, now Investment Analyst at Hadean Venturesand CEO of Insj UiO, Amruthaa Kishore.

In addition, the students Olga Rogulina, R?skva Bj?rgfinsdóttir, Kristina Benestad Hendicott and Roshman Jamesrajkumar presented their projects, while the Director of UiO:Life Science, Carl Henrik G?rbitz, spoke about the initiative with the summer project.

The event ended with a prize ceremony for the best poster in two categories. Henrik Formoe received most votes from the particpants and won the prize for best popular science poster. A jury consisting of UiO:Life Science' own PhDs and postdocs evaluated the posters on the basis of academic quality. The poster that was awarded the best academic poster was created by Olga Rogulina.


A new announcement expected in December 2025

The initiative with the summer project will be continued in 2026. Information about the next announcement will be posted in December 2025.
