Abstract
Professor Ewan Birney will present briefly the view of genomic medicine journey, making analogies with other technologies absorbed into healthcare, such as intra-vital imaging in the 19th Century. He will share his experience and observations as a researcher involved in technology transfer of genomics to healthcare across many locations worldwide, highlighting the challenges, the progress, the opportunities and the patient impact of genomic medicine.
