Walking the Talk; a Conversation on Democracy and Development

Dr. Blessings Chinsinga from Chancellor College, University of Malawi, visited the Centre for Development and the Environment (SUM) last week under the auspices of the Norwegian Programme for Capacity Development in Higher Education and Research for Development (NORHED) funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad).

The purpose of the visit was to work on journal articles with Professor Dan Banik, including finalizing a manuscript for their forthcoming book — “Political Transition and Inclusion Development in Malawi: The Democratic Dividend” (Routledge). During this visit, Dr. Chinsinga and Prof. Banik also used the opportunity to record several short videos on the relationship between democracy and development, which will be used for educational purposes at the University of Malawi and the University of Oslo.
