What is a Hackathon?

In our hackathon you work with a challenge under a restricted time frame, where the goal is to come up with the best solution and win the grand prize!

A hackathon is an intensive, time-limited competition where teams collaborate to develop the best possible solution to a given challenge and compete for the grand prize.

Regardless of your background, your expertise is valuable. The best starting point for this weekend is building the right team.

Our cases

Calm Technology

We live in a world of constant pings, notifications, and screens competing for our attention. Calm Technology is a design philosophy that pushes back against this. It's about building tech that works for you in the background, without demanding your focus.

Think of a kettle that whistles only when it's done, rather than updating you every 10 seconds. Or a smartwatch that gently vibrates instead of flashing alerts. The goal is technology that informs without overwhelming, and fades into the background when you don't need it.

In a world of attention overload, designing calm tech isn't just thoughtful, it's essential. This challenge invites you to rethink how we build products and services that respect people's time, focus, and wellbeing

Health Tech

Health tech (health technology) is where healthcare and technology come together to improve how we prevent, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases. It includes tools like health apps, smartwatches, electronic health records, and AI in healthcare.

Health tech enables earlier and more accurate diagnoses, more personalized treatments, and better follow-up for people with chronic illnesses. It can also automate routine tasks, reduce paperwork, and streamline workflows so healthcare professionals can spend more time with patients.

Join us to help improve care for cancer patients by working on Novartis’ case.

Meet students across schools and form teams

You will work in teams of 3–5 students, formed at our team merge on Friday.

In collaboration with the startup Sjarm Social, we will host a structured team-merging session designed to help you meet the right people. Through interactive activities, you will connect with students from different schools and disciplines to build the strongest possible team.

This is your opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in your studies to a real-life challenge and gain hands-on experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
