Reminder: Call seed funding for innovative UiO researchers – apply by 20 March

Do you have an innovative idea based on your research for a new product or service, but need funding to develop your early-stage technology or service further? Apply for seed funding from us!
This call is aimed at applicants (faculty/staff, clinicians, postdocs, and PhD candidates) who i) are employed at the University of Oslo (UiO) and ii) have an innovative idea or are working on an early-stage technology or service.
We have dedicated NOK 1.5 million to this round of seed funding. You may apply for seed I NOK 50 000 or seed II max NOK 200 000.

Grants for students – new scheme with application deadlines
From March 2025 students can apply for financial support from the student incubator Insj to develop ideas further. They manage funds for student innovation on behalf of the UiO Growth House. This new scheme replaces the ongoing funding for students from the UiO Growth House. Insj will have two application deadlines per year. The next application deadline is 18 March at 11:00 PM.

Glimpses from UIIN Nordic Forum in Oslo 5–6 March
Academia and industry are stronger together!! Thank you to all who contributed on stage and in group discussions during the University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN) Nordic forum: Stronger Together – Driving Innovation Through Collaboration in Oslo 5–6 March that was hosted by the UiO Growth House.
We hope all the participants made new contacts, and while we’re waiting for UIIN to summarize the event with vision, roadmap for the future and actionable steps, we share some glimpses from the event – 37 seconds with sound:
The forum united leaders, management and decision makers from universities, public sector and industry to benchmark and share policies and best practices for impactful research and development collaborations. See the event programme .

The innovation award 2025

Take part in Inven2's innovation competition the Innovation Award 2025 (formerly known as the Idea Award). The competition is open to employees at the University of Oslo and the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority. The winner receives 300 000 NOK. Deadline 1 May.
Remember that researchers from UiO with an idea, can get guidance and support from innovation advisers in the UiO Growth House.
